... It had started in Morogoro, Tanzania, in the late 1970’s!

Asbjorn and Randi from Norway, Maggie and John from the UK and Keith from the UK (but now living in the USA) were a group of like-minded friends and we had done a number of things together.

In 1979, in Tanzania, we had made some exciting trips in Land Rovers across the Massai steppe and to the Selous game reserve. <= Click on link to see more info and pictures!

In 2009 (30 years later!), we had the first Morogoro reunion, in the Lake District in North West England.

In 2011, we had Morogoro reunion number 2 in Switzerland.

In 2014, we met in Norway, in Vingsand for our 3rd reunion.

For 2017, Bangor was the place for our 4th reunion, from 16 to 22 April.

Maggie and John kindly hosted all of us comfortably in their home in Northern Wales.

... We wonder WHERE the next reunion will be?

Bangor is a city in Gwynedd unitary authority, north west Wales, and one of the smallest cities in the United Kingdom. It is the oldest city in Wales, it is a university city.

we had plenty of time for tea and to play our favorite card games!

We rented a people carrier in order that the 7 of us could go to various tourist destinations in the same vehicle.

The National Slate Museum is located at Gilfach Ddu in the 19th-century workshops of the now disused Dinorwic slate quarry, within the Padarn Country Park, Llanberis, Gwynedd.

The workshops which served the needs of the quarry and its locomotives, were built in 1870 on land created from the continuous tipping of spoil from the adjacent Vivian Quarry, and as a replacement for the store sheds which were previously sited there.

The quarry closed in 1969 and the site was opened in 1972 as the North Wales Quarrying Museum.

Caernarfon is a royal town, community, and port in Gwynedd, Wales. It lies on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait, opposite the Isle of Anglesey, the city of Bangor is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) to the north-east.

Criccieth Castle is a native Welsh castle situated on the headland between two beaches in Criccieth, Gwynedd, in North Wales, on a rocky peninsula overlooking Tremadog Bay. It was built by Llywelyn the Great of the kingdom of Gwynedd but it was heavily modified following its capture by English forces of Edward I in the late 13th century.

Llandudno is a seaside resort, town and community in Conwy County Borough, Wales, located on the Creuddyn peninsula, which protrudes into the Irish Sea. The town's name is derived from its patron saint, Saint Tudno.

Llandudno, "Queen of the Welsh Resorts", a title first applied as early as 1864, is now the largest seaside resort in Wales.
